Google data use

What Clopal accesses from Google, why each permission is needed, and how users remain in control.

Google sign-in is identity only

Signing in with Google gives Clopal your basic Google account identity: your account identifier, email address, name, and profile image when available. It does not give Clopal access to Gmail or Google Calendar.

The optional Google Workspace connection

Connecting Google Workspace is a separate, optional action. Clopal requests Gmail send-only access and access to events on calendars you own.

  • Google Calendar: Clopal displays upcoming and recent events from your primary calendar. It uses the event title, start and end time, organizer, attendees, your response, status, and meeting link. It checks description and location text only to find a supported Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams link.
  • Gmail: Clopal can send one specific follow-up email after you review its recipients, subject, and message and approve that action. Clopal does not read your inbox.
  • Calendar creation: Clopal can create one specific follow-up event after you review and approve its details.
  • Preparing and joining a scheduled meeting

Your calendar view lets you choose an event, approve it for preparation, and schedule the visible Clopal meeting assistant. The approval is tied to that event's current revision, time, and supported meeting link. If those details change, Clopal requires a new review. Declined, cancelled, or past events are not joined.

    What Clopal stores

Clopal stores your connected Google account email, granted scopes, token expiry, encrypted OAuth tokens, and your approve or skip decision together with the event identifier, revision, scheduled time, and meeting-link snapshot. Event details shown in the calendar view are retrieved for that view and are not retained as a separate copy of your calendar.

    What Clopal does not do

Clopal does not read Gmail messages, download email history, manage Gmail drafts, access Google Drive, change calendar settings, create or delete calendars, delete calendar events, sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

    Disconnecting and deleting data

You can disconnect Google Workspace from Account settings and revoke Clopal from your Google Account permissions page. Disconnecting stops future Google API use but does not remove emails or events that you already approved and created in Google.

To request deletion of the stored connection or other account data, follow our data deletion instructions. Our use and transfer of Google API data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
